Responsibilities:

The Director will play a pivotal role in overseeing all utility-scale solar PV and battery storage generation projects in the United States.  The position entails managing multiple projects throughout the development phase - from project inception to project financing or sale. Activities and responsibilities include leading a team in obtaining internal approvals for active project development; creating and managing project budgets and schedules; negotiating and executing real estate agreements; overseeing environmental studies and obtaining all necessary permits and regulatory approvals for financing; filing interconnection requests and completing studies; executing interconnection agreements; and sourcing and executing commercial offtake agreements.   

Additionally, the candidate will collaborate closely with various internal functional departments including engineering, commercial, finance, legal, and administrative to ensure successful project outcomes. He or she will also maintain market knowledge and monitor competitors and competing projects.  The candidate and/or its team members will be the “face” of the project with all local community stakeholders (political, government, school districts) and participate in community engagement and public relations, as needed.

The ideal candidate should possess and continually update their knowledge of industry trends, market dynamics, and transmission issues. They will analyze acquisition opportunities, respond to public Requests for Proposals (RfPs), and identify potential bidding opportunities for Advanced Power projects.  

Qualifications:  

The candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or MBA and at least 10 years of experience in the energy or power generation or related industry with a demonstrated ability to perform at a high level. Prior development or commercial experience in the United States power markets is required. The candidate will report to Vice President, Development.  Among other things the candidate must:

Additional requirements: 

Periodic travel throughout the U.S (~25%) is required.
