Procurement Director
The Opportunity:

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Engineering and Construction, the Procurement Director will be responsible for all procurement activities as they relate to the successful development of utility power projects.
Responsibilities:
· Build and maintain relationships with major equipment suppliers;
· Build and maintain relationships with EPC contractors;
· Explore potential long-term supply agreements or preferential supplier relationships to obtain the most reliable volume allocation and competitive pricing possible;
· Manage competitive bid processes for major equipment and construction, including RFP packages, bid evaluations, equipment awards, and purchase order/contract negotiations;
· Develop standard technical specifications for major equipment and construction using in-house and external specialists;
· Define and implement a third-party quality assurance, surveillance and control program;
· Oversee purchase order administration pre- and post-NTP including approval of invoices, management of QA/QC programs, transportation and logistics, storage, warranty administration and general commercial term enforcement;
· Work closely with the VP of Engineering and Construction and Project Directors to optimize economics across projects and streamline procurement execution and management;
· Resolve issues relating to quality, late deliveries, and defective product in a timely, professional, and effective manner.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering and a minimum of 8 years’ experience in the utility power industry
· Must have 5+ years of procurement experience
· Demonstrate history of strong analytical, planning, organizational and communication skills
· Must be energetic and self-motivated
· Ability to multi-task and manage multiple tasks and timelines
· Must have knowledge of all aspects of procurement and construction (technology, equipment, methods); PO/contract negotiations; engineering, estimating, schedules and QA/QC.
Additional Requirements:
· US and International travel is required (up to 50%)
